Read the article: Walk or cycle for 'a happier commute from BBC News is this week's dictionary exercise from our teacher, Ms.Sally. And there are 2 words more unfamiliar for me:
1. a necessary evil
a thing that is bad or that you do not like but which you must accept for a particular reason
example:
- The loss of jobs is regarded as a necessary evil in the fight against inflation.
2. well-being (noun)
general health and happiness
example:
- To have a sense of well-being
- We try to ensure the well-being of our employees
I choose Oxford Learner's Dictionary to look these two words. Because I feel comfortable use this online dictionary and it's easy to use.
I think use online dictionaries is more efficient and faster for me when I look up the words. So I also use online dictionaries in my daily.
